Spring Menu + Events - with Conor Mertens

Award-winning Chef, Conor Mertens leads Elephant Hill’s culinary experience and has recently gained the restaurant One Cuisine hat.

The menu is inspired by the elemental concepts of Sea, Earth and Stone, which lies at the heart of Elephant Hill’s winemaking and vineyard philosophy, working with the best that each natural element can offer – including pristine ingredients from the sea, seasonal vegetables and livestock from the earth, including from our own winery garden, and the depth and minerality drawn from stone. The goal is to create dishes that not only reflect the wines we make but also honour the whenua they come from, presented with the Japanese art of simplicity and deep respect for quality ingredients and produce.  

 Open Friday - Sunday, 11am-5pm with last booking for lunch at 3pm.

Hosted by Simon Swa at our Cellar Door, this intimate series explores the unique character of our Sea, Earth and Stone vineyards.

Each evening includes:

Welcome drink
Tutored tasting of single-vineyard wines

Library vintages and exclusive wine specials

Masterclass No.1 – SEA

For all ocean lovers…taste through the crisp, fresh and aromatic coastally influenced wines from our Te Awanga vineyard, including Sauvignon Blancs and aromatics, saline Chardonnays and an elegant coastal red.
 
Sat 27th September
Masterclass No.2 – EARTH

If you like deep, rich, fruity and flavoursome wines, then come to this exploration of wines from the warm, ancient soils of the EARTH vineyard in Bridge Pa Triangle, including aged Syrahs, juicy Chardonnays and more…
 
Sat 4th October
Masterclass No.3 – STONE

Calling all red wine fans… taste through a selection of bold, intense and mineral wine from the famous Gimblett Gravels STONE vineyard. Age worthy, structured and complex wines, including older, limited edition and top tier bottlings.

Our self-guided tastings allow you to explore a variety of wines from our Le Phant, Estate, and Reserve ranges. Perfect for those looking to socialize with friends or family, or for those who prefer to enjoy a tasting at their own pace.

  • Choose 4 wines for $20
  • Choose 6 wines for $30

Guided Tastings:
$35 per person
Our guided tastings are ideal for wine enthusiasts eager to learn more about our entire range, including some of our most special selections.

Fees are waived with any 2 bottles of wine purchased when you take our 'Guided Tastings' option.
