The Icon range Is the pinnacle of our winemaking. They are fine and rare wines made in strictly limited quantities.

Our top Syrah is named after the King-God of Elephants called Airavata, the sacred white elephant in Hindu mythology.

The wine is made up with 100% Syrah from our Gimblett Gravels STONE vineyard (71%) and Bridge Pa Triangle EARTH vineyard (29%). The grapes were hand picked on 27th and 28th March 2019. With 10% whole cluster, the wine was inoculated and went through a natural primary ferment, before malolactic ferment in Spring. Aged for 24 months in French oak (45% new) the wine then spent a further 4 months in tank, all the time on a light lees contact.

A concentrated, mouthfilling and structured Syrah. Fresh but dense blackcurrant and plum, with spice and black pepper flavours. The tannins are ripe and supple witha a long, finely poised finish. Cellar up to 2039.
